Dalesauna have an in house design service, which can assist you in creating a unique look for your particular heat experience or even whole spa.
Our designer Lynn Russell Hanson (BSc Hon) can assist in selecting the appropriate tiles and finishes to ensure that the elusive "wow factor" is achieved.
Design Project 1 - Rothay Garden Hotel
In 2010 we were contacted by Chris Carrs who has owned the Rothay Garden hotel in Grasmere, Cumbria for over 20 years.
During this time Chris has developed the hotel from its “conventional” Lake District offering into a luxurious “boutique” style property, however he still felt that there was something missing.
After discussions with Dalesauna, Chris appointed us to assist in the design and installation of a bespoke spa facility which would be located within the grounds of the hotel, but separated by a covered walkway from the hotel itself and overlooking the adjacent river and mountains.
After several design meetings, the final layout and specifications was completed, and work commenced.
The design incorporated a tiled aromatherapy room, herbal sauna, hydrotherapy pool, feature showers, tiled heated loungers and a unique reflexology walk.
Dalesauna’s in house designer Lynn Russell-Hanson had several meetings with Chris to further develop the very specific ideas Chris had for the interiors, paying particular attention to the use of natural colours and materials sympathetic with the location of the hotel and the surrounding environment.
You will see from the relevant design boards and photographs that Dalesauna were able to deliver exactly what Chris and Lynn had envisaged, and the resulting spa facility is probably the most individual and unusual facility not just in the Lake District, but the UK.
Design Project 2 - Ribby Hall Hotel Spa
In September 2007 we were contacted by Nikki Albanese who was the person responsible for the early stages of the proposed spa development.
Some early concepts were discussed with an initial “wish list” of products for the thermal suite, and following a meeting with Nikki and the Operations Director Mark Partington, so early proposals and budget prices were provided.
Following these early stage meetings, the recession reared its head, and plans were temporarily put on hold until the economy showed signs of improvement when we were re contacted by Nikki, and designs further refined.
A long collaboration between ourselves and Ribby Hall, its architects and interior designers has led to the opening some five years later of what is probably the North West’s leading destination spa hotel’
Our own in house designer Lynn Russell-Hanson has provide all of the interior finishes to the various heat experiences, and our own installation team has worked tirelessly to deliver a stunning array of thermal experiences and water based hydropool’s and spa’s.
