PROJECT OVERVIEW

Creating a Premium Thermal Spa Experience

LAB Spa Muswell Hill is a luxury health and wellness club in North London, known for its premium facilities and focus on member experience.
As part of a major spa refurbishment, DaleSauna was commissioned to design, manufacture and install a bespoke collection of thermal experiences, combining contemporary design with specialist wellness expertise.
The completed space brings together heat, cold, light and carefully considered finishes to create a distinctive, multi-sensory spa environment.

The Brief

The vision was to create a sophisticated thermal suite that would enhance the existing spa while reflecting LAB Spa’s distinctive identity.
Each space needed to deliver a premium member experience while providing the durability and performance required within a busy commercial health club.
Bespoke detailing, specialist finishes and contrasting hot and cold experiences were central to creating an environment that felt individual to LAB Spa.

A Bespoke Collection of Thermal Experiences

DaleSauna designed, manufactured and installed a complete collection of thermal and wellness experiences, with each space carefully considered to complement the next and create a cohesive journey through the spa.

Bespoke Sauna & Saunarium
A bespoke sauna and saunarium were created to provide distinct heat experiences, combining specialist commercial construction with contemporary finishes, feature LED lighting and LAB Spa branding.

Contrast Ice Room
One of the project’s standout features, the dedicated ice room combines crushed ice, a sculpted ice bowl, atmospheric lighting and a bespoke snowy vista to create a memorable cooling experience.

Luxury Tiled Steam Room
The steam room was finished with handmade Italian mosaics, bringing colour, texture and a highly individual finish to the space.

Feature Showers
Feature showers add another sensory dimension, providing a refreshing transition between the hot and cold experiences.

Take a closer look at the bespoke thermal spaces, specialist finishes and design details that come together to create LAB Spa’s multi-sensory wellness experience.

Creating a Unique Thermal Journey

One of the standout features of the project is the Contrast Ice Room, providing an invigorating cooling experience following time in the heated areas.

A crushed-ice feature allows members to cool the body after sauna or steam bathing, while blue LED lighting, a sculpted ice bowl and carefully selected finishes create a dramatic contrast to the warmer thermal spaces.

The room also incorporates a bespoke snowy vista feature wall, inspired by the owner’s childhood holidays, adding a highly personal design element and giving the space a character unique to LAB Spa.

The saunarium and steam room continue this attention to detail. Large LAB Spa logo plaques create a strong connection with the club’s identity, while the steam room features handmade Italian mosaics produced in an artisanal workshop.

Lighting, materials, ventilation and specialist joinery were carefully integrated throughout to achieve a refined finish without compromising the practical requirements of a high-use commercial spa.
